Historical Note

Originally formed by Harold Taylor as the United States Committee for the United Nations University and "organized by Harold Taylor to stimulate thinking and involvement by the United States higher education community as the new University gets underway. The group consists of Norman Cousins, Alvin Eurich, Luther Evans, Buckminster Fuller, Richard Gardner, Margaret Mead, Seth Spaulding, and others" (Source: A University for the World: The United Nations Plan by Harold Taylor).

The Univeristy's priority concerns are defined by five themes, which range across the world's most urgent anxieties.
